About

I am the proud winner of my 8th grade English class's suspense award for a short story. When everyone wondered what happened in the story after my awesome cliffhanger, I admitted that I actually didn't know. At thirteen I started my first novel, but at fourteen I gave up on it when I discovered I didn't know what was going to happen. I have attempted NaNoWriMo off and on for ten years, writing and rewriting the same story.

After years and years, I finally made a most profound realization: I am a planner. If I don't know how the story is going to go, it is very difficult for me to write it. To everyone else, it was probably obvious.

Now I'm a writer in Utah that plots. I've completed a couple of short a stories that I'm submitting to writing contests and I'm working on finishing my debut novel Shadows of Light. When I'm not writing, I'm attempting to raise five kids and a dog and keep them all from peeing on the carpet or driving my beautiful wife insane.
